MOTHER TONGUE TO BE THE MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION UNTIL CLASS 5:
The native language or mother tongue will be the mode of instruction in all schools up to Class 5 (ideally till Class 8 and past), as per the NEP. Furthermore, Sanskrit will be offered at all levels and foreign dialects from the auxiliary school level.
CHANGES IN REPORT CARD:
The advancement report will incorporate self-evaluation, peer appraisal, and instructor evaluation. The draft strategy expresses that a national appraisal body — The Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH)- will be built up. This body will be entrusted with the task of setting principles, standards, and rules for the assessment of understudies for all recognized school board. The report cards won’t be about numbers/reviews any longer. THE COMMON ENTRANCE EXAM FOR COLLEGE:
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold selection tests for admissions to colleges the nation over. The NTA as of now holds the following entrance exams – JEE Main, NEET, UGC NET, and others. According to the NEP 2020, the entrance exams to be conducted by the NTA for admission to colleges and schools will be discretionary.
