Before you get out of bed in the morning, you should take your temperature. When you ovulate, you’ll notice a slight rise in temperature. It can be measured with a special thermometer.

Cervical mucus monitoring is another option. Throughout one’s cycle cervical mucus changes, and it can be a good indicator of when you’re at your most fertile. As you approach ovulation, your mucus will become thinner and more slippery, similar to egg whites. This is an indication that your body is preparing to ovulate.

Finally, ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) are available. These kits look for a spike in luteinizing hormone (LH) in your urine, which occurs just before ovulation. When the LH level rises, it indicates that you will ovulate within the next 24 to 48 hours.
